Where It All Begins
Imagine stepping into a one-acre nursery, sheltered beneath a sleek black shade net. Here, quality starts with our foundation seed—a genetically pure seed chosen to produce the finest rice grains. Our nursery currently uses a little over one-quarter of the available space, with plans to expand and accommodate up to 100 seed beds.
As you walk along, notice our team of six dedicated workers manually sieving soil to create the perfect environment. Before our seeds even reach these beds, they undergo a series of treatments.
They are first immersed in water heated to 52°C for 12 minutes to eliminate any harmful seed-borne diseases. Following this, the seeds are soaked in room-temperature water for 24 hours and then wrapped in black plastic sheets for another 24 hours, a process that initiates pre-germination.
After this careful preparation, the seeds are evenly spread over the beds, lightly covered with soil, and misted with water using a knapsack sprayer. For 14 days, our seedlings are nurtured around the clock, receiving regular watering and two rounds of insecticide and fungicide treatment before they’re ready to join the permanent fields.
